Coatings

 The industry offers a number of elastomeric coatings available from acyrlic to ureathane. A coating application is to provide additional waterproofing to a surface such as metal or to extend the life of a single ply membrane.

 

Advantages - An excellent way to help extend the life of a single ply or smooth surface built up roof. Can provide reflectivity to a roof membrane to help reduce cooling costs.

 

Disadvantages - Uniform dry mil thickness of the coating is reliant on a quality applicator. Some coatings are adversly affected by ponding water. Maintenance or recoating may be required on a regular basis to maintain reflectivity or waterproofing.
